Death and the Pragmatist

Isaac [apropos nothing]: “If you die when Mom is gone, I’ll just go over to one of my friends to play. At least until someone comes along and recognizes you are dead.”

Richard: “You’ll go play?!”

Isaac: “Yeah. What do you want me to do, stay here? That would be creepy!”

Richard: “Wouldn’t you call 911?”

Isaac:  “Why?  You’re dead.”
